Established in the year 2018, Indian Institute of Information Technology Agartala is currently one of the youngest IIIT in the country. NIT Agartala is the mentor institute of IIIT Agartala. IIIT Agartala is also recognised as an "Institute of National Importance".

- Candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Candidate must have valid score/rank in JEE (Main). They must produce their scorecard/ rank card of JEE (Main) during counseling.
- Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
- The age limits as per JEE (Main) criteria.
