Kazi Nazrul University, also known as (KNU Burdwan) was established in 2012. The institute is a state university managed by the Government of West Bengal. The UGC has recognised the university, which offers various diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Computer Application, and Education streams. KNU Courses are Diploma, B.Sc, B.E/B.Tech, BA LLB, B.Com LLB, LLM, M.A, M.Com, M.Sc, M.Phil, MCA and Ph.D. The Kazi Nazrul University eligibility criteria for Ph.D and B.Tech admission is to obtain valid scores in the UGC-NET and WBJEE entrance examinations, respectively. 

Kazi Nazrul University is also accredited by NAAC with a B grade. The KNU Burdwan selection process is conducted online through the official website of the university. The candidates have to fill out the application form, pay the application fee, and upload the required documents. Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the entrance examination or qualifying examination, whichever is applicable. To confirm KNU admission, selected candidates must verify their documents and pay the fee.
