National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NITPY or NIT Pondicherry) is one of the ten new NITs in the Union Territory of Puducherry. NIT Puducherry area in acres is 258 acres near village Poovam in Thiruvettakudy. NIT Puducherry was established in 2009 by the Government of India. National Institute of Technology Puducherry has been termed as an institute of National Importance under the MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development).
NIT Pondicherry courses are offered in streams of engineering and technology, applied sciences, and computers and information technology. NITPY offers 26 courses including B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc and Ph.D. To get admitted at the institute the candidates should meet the NIT Puducherry eligibility criteria for admission. M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
Admissions for all the post-graduate programs are made on All India basis, with reservations as per the norms of Government of India. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech., Programme in Engineering Departments must satisfy the following criteria:
- Candidates should have passed B.E.,/B.Tech. or an equivalent degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University/Institute with First Class and not less than 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.5/10. In case of SC/ST candidates, 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of 6.0/10 is the eligibility requirement.
- For applying as a regular full-time candidate, a valid GATE score is required.
