National Institute of Technology Sikkim is an autonomous Institute of National Importance, which was established in 2010 by an act of parliament. NIT Sikkim offers courses in 26 courses in 9 departments. NIT Sikkim campus area in acres in 20 acres. Nearly 2-3 acres of land just surrounding these buildings have been fenced.
Currently, the NIT Sikkim offers UG, PG and doctoral programmes in various fields. National Institute of Technology Sikkim offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, Ph.D and many other courses. NIT Sikkim courses are offered in various fields including Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
Before applying for admission at NIT Sikkim, the candidates should appear for the relevant entrance examination which includes JEE Mains/GATE/JAM. Admissions to the National Institute of Technology Sikkim for B.Tech courses are conducted through the JoSAA/CSAB counselling based on JEE Main. For NIT Sikkim M.Tech admission, the GATE score is mandatory, and the JAM exam is mandatory for M.Sc admissions.
