Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, also known as SSUHS Guwahati was established in 2009. The institute is a government university in Assam. SSUHS Guwahati offers full-time courses at the UG, PG and doctoral levels in the Medical and Allied Sciences stream. Courses offered by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences include MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BML, B.Sc, B.Pharm, MD, MPT, MS, MDS, M.Sc and PhD.
Admissions to MBBS, BAMS and BHMS are through NEET scores. The entrance exam is conducted by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences for BML, B.Sc, B.Pharm and MPT admissions. NEET-PG and NEET-MDS scores are considered for MD/ MS and MDS admissions respectively. The SSUHS Guwahati PhD admission is based on the marks obtained by candidates in the written entrance examination conducted by Srimanta Sankaradeva University, followed by a personal interview.
Candidates who have cleared the UGC (JRF) Examination/UGC-NET/SET/SLET or have passed the M.Phil degree are exempted from the entrance test. SSUHS Guwahati provides all facilities and infrastructure to students and staff. SSUHS Guwahati facilities include a canteen, smart classrooms, a library, laboratories, and many others.
