Established in the year 1967, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi currently offers programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, The BE degree at Goa College of Engineering is offered in eight disciplines, and the ME program at GCE Goa is offered in nine postgraduate subjects.
Admission in the BE programme at GEC Goa is made on the basis of previous academic scores and rank and admission in the ME programme at Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi is made on the basis of the GATE scores and rank.
Goa College of Engineering provides placement assistance to both the UG and PG programme students. Data from the NIRF 2024 shows that 232 of the 487 UG students at GCE Goa who graduated within the minimum amount of time were placed with median annual salaries of Rs. 6,25,000. GCE Farmagudi also provides an opportunity to its students to apply for various Scholarships.

(ii) Candidates having any of the qualifying degrees from other than Goa University shall be provisionally admitted to the respective ME programme, subject to submission of a Provisional Eligibility Certificate issued by Goa University.
(iii) Candidates having any other degree not specified in the above list shall apply for issue of Provisional Eligibility Certificate to the University. Such cases shall be decided by a Committee comprising of the Registrar along with the Dean of the concerned faculty and Chairperson(s) of the Board(s) of Studies of the concerned subjects and issued by Goa University. Such candidate(s) shall be provisionally admitted to the respective ME programme, subject to submission of Provisional Eligibility Certificate.
ME Foundation Engineering
(i) Any person with a degree of Bachelor of Engineering of minimum 4 years duration of Goa University or of any other University/Institution recognized as equivalent to the Bachelor of Engineering degree of Goa University (including AMIE, AMICE and IETE) shall be eligible for admission, as per the table below in the appropriate/corresponding stream:
(ii) Candidates having any of the qualifying degrees from other than Goa University shall be provisionally admitted to the respective ME programme, subject to submission of a Provisional Eligibility Certificate issued by Goa University.
