Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) Gangtok was established in 1997 with an objective to impart academic excellence in the field of healthcare and medical Sciences. SMIMS Gangtok is A+ certified by NAAC and ranks 51+ in university ranking in band width 101-150 as per NIRF. The institute is affiliated to Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok and offers a total of 15 courses at UG and PG level. At UG, the institute offers 2 courses - MBBS and B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology while at PG, there are 13 courses in M.D, M.S, and M.Sc in various specialisations like Physiology, Psychiatry, ENT, Biochemistry and many more. Students can take admission to these courses on the basis of merit as per the valid NEET Scores. The campus offers all basic facilities to the students to study in a comfortable environment. These facilities include Hostels, Gym, Conference hall, Canteen, Lecture Halls, Libraries, and more. Along with that, a Campus placement is also conducted at the campus to offer jobs to the meritorious students. To aid the students financially, there is also a provision for scholarship wherein students can be helped financially.
